The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are actually open and will close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should satisfy the subsequent criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house using a combined gross home earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined home cash flow won't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want nsfas 2025 not post any proof of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to provide the correct Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or plan to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
